A Brentwood Church & A Roof Built To Serve

|

A historic Brentwood church founded by former slaves carries weight that goes far beyond its walls. When the roof needed work, the moment called for more than a contractor—it called for a team that understood what the building represents to the people who gather there.

We showed up on a Saturday with skilled hands, donated materials, and one clear goal. By the end of the day, the whole building had a new roof.

Here’s a closer look at the work and the people behind it.

Some Roofs Carry More Than Weather

Every structure we work on matters to someone. A roof over a home protects a family. A roof over a workplace keeps a business running. A roof over a landmark like this church shelters something harder to replace—history, community, and decades of shared memory.

That understanding has shaped how we approach our work since 1978. The materials and the craft matter, but so does knowing what’s at stake for the people inside.

Putting the Work Where It Counts

Community involvement means something different when it’s connected to what you actually know how to do. For this church, our support took a concrete form: skilled labor, donated materials, and a crew willing to give up a Saturday to preserve an important piece of local history.

That’s the kind of neighbor Don Kennedy Roofing has tried to be since we first opened our doors. We’re grateful to work in a community with stories worth protecting—and roofs worth getting right.
