GAF Master Elite Certified. Carlisle Perfection Award Winner. Serving Chattanooga Since 1978.
Since 1978, Don Kennedy Roofing Company - Chattanooga has built its reputation one roof at a time across Tennessee. We bring that same commitment to every project in Chattanooga and Hamilton County, backed by credentials most roofing companies don’t hold: GAF Master Elite contractor status and Carlisle Authorized Applicator recognition, with a Perfection Award to show for it. We’re fully insured, BBB A+ accredited, and proud members of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA).
Chattanooga’s varied terrain creates real differences in what roofs face. Properties along the valley floor contend with heavy seasonal rainfall and hail, while elevated neighborhoods carry higher wind loads. Knowing the local conditions matters. Free estimates are available, financing plans are offered for qualifying projects, and we’re reachable 24/7 for same-day and emergency appointments.

Roofing Services We Provide in Chattanooga
Chattanooga’s housing stock runs the full range, from century-old craftsman bungalows in Highland Park and Ferger Place to newer construction in Ooltewah and the surrounding suburbs. No single solution fits every property, which is why we handle the full scope of residential and commercial roofing work.
Our Chattanooga services include:
- Roof Replacement: Full tear-off and installation using certified materials matched to your property type and roof pitch
- Roof Repair and Leak Repair: Targeted fixes that address the source of the problem, not just the symptom
- Roof Inspection: Thorough assessments to catch deterioration before it becomes a larger issue
- Storm Damage Response: Rapid evaluation and documentation following hail, high winds, or heavy rain events
- Metal Roofing: Durable systems well suited to elevated terrain with higher wind-uplift demands
- Flat and Low-Slope Roofing: Membrane systems including TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, and built-up roofing
- Gutter Services: Installation and repairs to protect your roofline and foundation
- Attic Ventilation: Proper airflow solutions that support longer roof system life
- Commercial Roofing: Carlisle-certified installation for flat and low-slope commercial properties
Credentials That Go Beyond the Brochure
The Chattanooga roofing market has no shortage of options. Credentials are how you separate verifiable quality from self-reported claims.
GAF designates fewer than 2% of roofing contractors nationwide as Master Elite. Earning that status requires meeting GAF’s quality standards, maintaining proper licensing, and demonstrating strong customer satisfaction records. On the commercial side, our Carlisle Authorized Applicator status and Perfection Award reflect manufacturer-verified installation quality, not just familiarity with the product.
Beyond certifications, here’s what working with us looks like in practice:
- BBB A+ Accreditation: Reflects sustained customer satisfaction and ethical business practices over decades
- NRCA Membership: Ongoing professional development and adherence to industry standards
- 24/7 Availability: Same-day and emergency appointments when roofing issues can’t wait
- Free Estimates: Clear, honest project scopes with no hidden costs before you commit
- Flexible Financing: Payment plans available for qualifying projects
- In Business Since 1978: Long-term relationships with Tennessee property owners, not a contractor that moves on after storm season
From First Call to Finished Roof
Every project starts with a thorough on-site inspection. We document what we find, give you a clear estimate with no hidden costs, and walk you through what the work involves before anything is scheduled.
For storm damage projects, that documentation step matters even more. We photograph damage in detail and prepare written assessments that support your insurance claim. When the adjuster needs organized records, we provide them. The goal is to reduce the stress of navigating a claim after a weather event, so you can focus on the roofing process rather than managing paperwork.
Hamilton County roofing projects require permits for full replacements and structural repairs. We handle that as part of the job.

“They did everything they were contracted to do, in a timely manner and delivered quality service.”Ed S.
They were upfront in their assessment of my roof and reasonable in their quote
"As a small business owner myself for 20+ years I truly appreciate a business as professional as Don Kennedy Roofing. They did everything they were contracted to do, in a timely manner and delivered quality service. I got several quotes from other roofing companies for my commercial building (several did not even bother to contact me back to give me a quote). Don Kennedy Roofing was upfront in their assessment of my roof and reasonable in their quote. I would strongly suggest this company to anyone looking for roofing replacement or repairs. Don Kennedy I know you are proud of your business it shows in the work."- Ed S. -
“The crew came early on weekday morning, and installed the gutters and guards for us within a few hours.”Amber B.
They were very professional, and did a fantastic job
"- Amber B.We got our roof replaced several years ago but never had the gutters replaced so we decided to get new gutters and gutter guards through Don Kennedy. The crew came early on weekday morning, and installed the gutters and guards for us within a few hours. They were very professional, and did a fantastic job - there is reason that Don Kennedy is known for being the best in Middle Tennessee.
They installed Alu Rex (Double Pro) Gutter Guards for us, and we are so excited that we no longer have to clean our gutters every season anymore! Don Kennedy continues to be the most reputable roofing business around, and we are so thrilled with the results! Thanks DK!

“They just installed the copper chimney cap this morning. I told the installer it almost looks like a work of art.”Larry S.
We are VERY pleased with the Don Kennedy company.
"- Larry S.We are VERY pleased with the Don Kennedy company. Their estimate was not the least expensive way to replace the roof, but their work and product are first class. They just installed the copper chimney cap this morning. I told the installer it almost looks like a work of art.
Coupled with the quality of new roof and the overall experience with the company, plus the roof comes with a 25-year transferable guarantee, I give them an A plus reference/review.

“He did an excellent job showing and explaining the problems that caused the leak after a thorough inspection.”Ron S.
They took the time to explain what they were going to do
"- Ron S.My experience with Don Kennedy Roofing began when Ethan Burke did an inspection of our roof after we had a water leak in our ceiling after a hard rain. He did an excellent job showing and explaining the problems that caused the leak after a thorough inspection. He took all the time I needed to understand what the problem was and what would be needed to fix that problem. He then pointed out some other issues that could be a future problem. He also made sure we had a good idea of what needed to be done now and what could be done in a second step later.
After we agreed, the technicians who came out to fix the problem were polite and considerate. They took the time to explain what they were going to do and got their work done in a timely manner. When the repair was done they let me know and they had cleaned up all debris in the areas where they worked. I would highly recommend Don Kennedy Roofing for roof repairs or a new roof if needed.

“Financing was easy and I have piece of mind that the job was done correctly”Wendi L.
The crew was amazing!
"Noticed a leak just before Thanksgiving. Called Don Kennedy for a quote to get the leak fixed. A technician (Nathanael) was out the next day and we discovered the company that roofed my house 15 years ago did a terrible job (no flashing around some vents, no underlay in parts). Bottom line: fix just this problem and gamble that the rest of the roof was okay, or replace the entire roof correctly with Don Kennedy. I went with Don Kennedy. The crew was amazing! They let me know what they were doing, they cleaned all the nails up (went over the yard and drive way more than twice with magnets), and the roof looks great. The foreman (Wesley) was out multiple times to discuss the work with me and to check the progress. Also had new gutters put on by DK as those were not installed correctly either. Same thing -- crew was great and the foreman was out to check progress multiple times. Financing was easy and I have piece of mind that the job was done correctly and if anything goes wrong, I can call Don Kennedy and they will fix it for me. Could not be happier with this decision."- Wendi L.
